Visitor Visa

What is Visitor Visa?

Canada Visitor Visa also referred to as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or Canadian Tourist Visa, is an official document issued by a Canadian visa office that is placed in your passport to show that you have met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident (either as a visitor, a student, or a worker).

Tourist Visa Requirements

  •     Have a valid passport.
  •     Be in good health.
  •     Show bank or other financial statements to prove you have enough funds for the trip to Canada.
  •     Letter of invitation / Proof of the relationship / Immigration status from your family or friends if you are visiting them.
  •     Purpose of Visit Letter
  •     Convince an immigration officer that you have ties—such as a job, home, financial assets, or family that will take you back to your home country.
  •     Your employment or education status through a resume or diplomas, as well as a letter from your employer stating that you have contractual obligations to fulfill, and you must return to your home country.
  •     Proof that your stay in Canada is temporary and that you will return to your home country once your visit is over, such as a lease, property deed, and so on.
  •     Two photos that meet the Canada Photo Requirements.
  •     have no criminal or immigration-related convictions.

Parent or Grandparent can spend up to 5 years at a time visiting your children or grandchildren with a Visitor visa. It’s a visa that allows for multiple entries for up to 10 years. The length of your stay will be confirmed by a border services officer when you enter Canada.

There are specific requirements for a super visa, including the need for medical insurance. You must meet all the criteria to be eligible. 

Eligibility :

To be eligible for a super visa, you must :

  • Be a parent or grandparent of a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen of Canada.                                    
  • Have a signed letter of Invitation from your child or grandchild who invites you to Canada                                    
  • Have private medical insurance that is valid for a minimum of 1 year from a Canadian insurance company                                    
  • Cover your Health care, repatriation, and hospitalization                                    
  • Provide at least a minimum coverage of $100,000                                    
  • Have a validity for each entry to Canada                                                              

In addition to that you must also :                        

  • Apply for a visitor visa from outside Canada.                                    
  • Have your visa printed outside Canada                                                             
  •  Be allowed to enter Canada                                                               
  • Take an immigration medical exam                                                             
  • Meet certain other conditions                                                                  
  • Only allowed to bring your spouse or common law partner to Canada with you with the Super Visa                                                           
                
                
                    
        

Financial support (proof of funds)
